Staying COVID safe

Safe Trading Tips:

Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of the Releaseit community. In order for everyone to have the best possible experience, please make sure you read our safe trading tips below:

#1 Follow COVID rules and regulations:
Before trading on Releaseit, please ensure you are being COVID safe at all times and are up to date with the current rules and restrictions that apply to you. Rules and regulations vary between each state and territory. To find rules and regulations relevant to you, please find the Government website for each state or territory below:

#2 Practice good hygiene
Practicing good hygiene is important for keeping everyone safe! If you’re meeting up with someone in person to trade, we recommend washing your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or using an alcohol-based hand sanitiser, before and after exchanging the rental. If possible, we also encourage the use of face masks during all exchanges.

#3 Keep your distance
Physical distancing is important to ensure the health and safety of everyone in our community. The Australian Government recommends maintaining 1.5 metres distance between people whenever possible. When exchanging rentals, we recommend organising a contactless trade to limit the physical contact between parties. Try to coordinate a safe location where you are able to leave the rental. For example, dropping off the item on a doorstep, front lawn or porch. If this is not possible, try to avoid physical greetings like shaking hands and limit the time spent talking in person. If you want to have a yarn, you can message on Releaseit!

#4 Clean your rental before exchanging it
Before exchanging a rental, whether from the owner to the seeker or returning the item at the end of the rental period, make sure to clean the rental. Certain items may have specific instructions on how it is best to clean it. Alternatively, you can give the rental a wipe down with disinfectant cleaning wipes or any household cleaning products you have available, to get rid of any potential germs on the item.

#5 Don’t forget social etiquette
Be mindful of the health and safety of others in our community, and please stay at home if you or a close family or friend is feeling unwell or experiencing any flu-like symptoms. We want to protect our community and ensure everyone’s wellbeing, so please continue to stay up to date and comply with the latest rules and regulations for your local government area.

We will always be informed with the latest information and advice from the World Health Organisation and the Australian Government and will continue to update our Safe Trading Tips as necessary.
